A Modern Library Starts with Thoughtfully Chosen Furniture

Educational and administrative spaces require a careful balance between functionality and character. Furniture in these environments must withstand intensive daily use while creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable studying, working, and spending time.

This was exactly the approach we took when furnishing the Transport Institute, combining practical workspace solutions with comfortable areas designed for relaxation and informal interaction.

For the library, we selected ARANO PRO chairs in grey—a refined and comfortable choice that provides excellent support during long hours of studying and working. Adjacent to the workstations, a bookcase was installed to store books and journals, serving not only as practical storage for educational materials but also as a distinctive visual feature of the interior.

The reception desk was manufactured using Ultradecor laminated chipboard, a material that combines an expressive texture with outstanding durability—an essential quality for an area that welcomes a constant flow of visitors. Work desks completed the library interior, creating a comfortable and well-organized environment for study and work.

For the lounge and informal meeting areas, we selected a coffee table upholstered in eco-leather with a steel frame—a light, contemporary solution—along with a bean bag chair that quickly became a favorite spot for students between classes. The space was further enhanced by a bookcase placed in the common area, reinforcing the welcoming atmosphere of an open library.

The result is a space where the structured functionality of administrative areas seamlessly coexists with the relaxed, inviting atmosphere of the lounge zones. Achieving this balance was the primary goal of our project for the Transport Institute.
